You want to know how we Victory-Fort Pastors keep the love and the unity among each other?
Here's a blog of our Senior Pastor Joey Bonifacio as he shares about the secret of "making every effort to keep the unity or keeping our team together".
Psalms 133:1 How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!
Q:What would you do to reach the 11,000 students of University of Makati? A: Raise up and train Student Leaders in that campus.
As much as events are exciting and has lots of fun, we should have the discipline to constantly ask ourselves of what do we really want in terms of end results and our purpose on everything we do. That's the power of narrowing your focus.
Here are the pictures of the 150 serious students who came last April 5 at EN building as the result of our 4 months of hardwork with our engaging events last semester and the prayers offered by some of our volunteers and staff for this school. They came to undergo our discipleship process or 121 through our Summer Life Coaching Class. We are still expecting more students to come this saturday.
Summer Life Coaching Class is a 4 week event and it is our way of helping our students be established in our small groups or life coaching groups. After this, our direction for them is to bring these students to Victory Weekend and help them experience a complete freedom in Christ.
Please continue to be with us in prayer and for the lives of these young men and women.
1John 5:14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
Are you into campus ministry? Or any other ministry? Are you are in need of an engaging skill to capture your audience? Here's a video that will help you do your campus ministry more effectively. As for me and our ministry in UNIVERSITY of MAKATI, this is what we do. I watched this video on how to catch a giant catfish and got the principles.
The two guys fishing were immersed in the water. For us, this is being deeply involved in the campus or the activity of the students. If you notice that if needed, they totally submerged themselves in. You've got to descend below the surface, get deeper into not just be visible in the UMAK events. The special event is just the surface.
Then they patiently waited on... the perfect move was just to keep still and make a good stance. To me, this is to ENGAGE: creating a good posture, position, approach & attitude or in other words, be a leader in their sight. Not only on what you say but it should be backed up with your actions too. And if necessarily, wear cool shades.
Finally, they caught two big catfishes! Leaders attract leaders. These are the students who are visible in the campus who love being recognized as cool or people person.
After which, they completely held the fish. We involve our students into our events, making them see that they are already part of what we are doing.
The guys secured it and made sure it stayed intact. Now comes the ESTABLISH part. We bring the catch into discipleship or life coaching, which means we continue to develop relationship and using the 121 booklet as our training tool to help them become great leaders and examples to their peers.
In an instance that the fish or the catch wants to break away, they continued to hold fast to the fish. Usually for the students, the struggling part are questions not answered properly in their minds. Like, "Is this a religion?", "what does a Life Coach's life look like?" and many more. These questions need to be answered clearly even before they ask you.
Lastly, they eventually placed the fishes inside the boat preventing it to go back into the water. As we engage them through our friendship and events, we strategically transition them to ESTABLISHING them into the Word, faith and Church. We have one coming this summer and we call it SUMMER LIFE COACHING CLASS(i'll blog about this one soon) to help us establish these students. Its where we'll have more than 200 students from UMAK who wants to be part of a life coaching group and be a life coach for the next school year. After this summer class, we'll bring the students to our Victory Weekend. That too needs a strategic transition.
And one more thing, how i wish pastor Keith and I would have the same physique as these two guys here in this video. That would be very very cool!
Matthew 4:19 “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.”
Click this short testimony (and leave a comment too) of a UMAK student on how God found them during their weekend vacation in Tagatay. I remember he called me in my cellphone at around 11pm and shared to me how happy they were. I even heard some of them crying for joy because they felt that God was there in their midst.
God can visit anybody regardless of who they are and is able to convict them of their short comings and bring them into his unfathomable love.
God is so wonderful.
I had a date with a teenager and even gave her flowers. I’ve been holding this for a long time already and I’m glad I was able to bring it off my chest..........Hahaha! Drama noh. And not only glad but excited too. I’ve waited for 4 months so that I could write this down on the right time since february is a love month.
Actually, this teenager wrote a blog about our date. And after reading it, i caught myself in tears because one, I saw that she’s a great blogger. Plus, I am so happy and blessed, and proud of being her……oh well. I don’t want to spoil the fun. Just click this LINK and read her blog.
Thanks!
We dont see or hear awesome life stories everyday. But this one is great!
A changed life!
Click this blog and be encouraged by a life that was looking for someone that will make HER complete. A testimony from a student of University of Makati.
I am sooooooooooo glad that God used me as an instrument for her to know that LIFE is wonderful when you have Jesus in your heart.
And please leave a comment too and help her feel her spiritual family.
Thanks! 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
We are so excited! Not only because Christmas is just around the corner, but because of what God is going to do with our UMAK event next week!
Last November, was a month of meetings and of rallying people, planning, casting vision, work delegations, and lots of prayer meetings, and meetings, and rallying people! (did I say that twice?) Yes, endless meetings and challenging people to be part of this great work of our Lord for the students of University of Makati. So far, we have gathered 50 PASSIONATE VOLUNTEERS who will help us lead small groups and in different ministry departments. We have a big team for our ushering ministry, 2 teams to do the production and administration, and 2 music teams. December 12, 2007 at 5pm is highlighted as our first ever University of Makati or UMAK College Service! It will take place in their very own Mini-Theatre with a 400 seating capacity and we are expecting to have a full-house!
This event will be more like an outreach event. We have named the said event as “LIFE goes to UMAK”. Our primary goal is to engage the students through our gimmicks and eventually establish them into a small group or what we call “LIFE group”. There will be lots of surpices and I will also give an inspirational message about IDENTITY. Our next event will be on January 16. We will just do one service for December and January just to “test the waters”, so that it will not also be too much for our volunteers. But hopefully by February, we will have a regular weekly service once we’ve set the pace and momentum.
Please pray for the salvation of many students in this campus. May they receive Jesus as the King and the Lord of their lives!
See you there!
God gave us 30 students as a result of our work in University of Makati. Thanks to our Professional athletes like Ringo Borlain, Kerby Reymundo, Peter June Simon and all the pastors for helping us reach these students. The students are now having one on one discipleship with some of our student leaders and some are also involved in our small group discipleship ministry. And as a favor from God, 12 from my class both men and women are now under my outreach group. I can’t wait for the next semester! This time, I will teach two classes with almost 50 students each. C'mon! (If you don't know what happened in this school last semester, check-out my blog last September 22)As the LIFE series and small group affected them, here are some of the testimonials I got from my outreach group: Because of the lessons, I knew God deeper. It inspires me everyday and it changed my vision in life. And it helped me realized that I can be a better person. - Jove Regano
It helped me a lot. The stories and quotes from the lessons every time we meet in our small group changed me. I am now a better Joan. - Joan Docusin
From the moment we started the LIFE series and small group, we became more closer to God. And every time we have problems in life, my classmates and I would talk about it seriously not like before that we only make fun of each other. I also learned about my purpose in life and whatever trials that I might face, God is always there with me to help me. - Juvy Buenavista
The LIFE coaching(small group) inspires me a lot to become a well-mannered and God fearing person. It gave me such an enlightenment. Also the inspiration to strive against all odds in my life. Now, I understand and know God deeply. I also realized that I am blessed too, to have God by my side. And that I should value everything He made, every person around us and especially life. - Rosete Romero
I learned that it is important to know your purpose in life while you are still young. To do God's will in our lives and not our own will because God knows what will really make us happy and what's really good for us. - Weng Duarte It helped me to improve in my faith and trust God. It enhanced my self-confidence to share the Word of God. - Gypzy BallaBecause of these testimonies,we are now close in birthing our UMAK service inside that campus. It will be on December 12, 2007 at 5pm in their mini-auditorium with a 350 seating capacity. We might not be able to reach all the 11,000 students in that campus now. But with the testimonies that we just read, we can bring HOPE in the lives of many students there by starting a CAMPUS SERVICE inside UMAK and also SMALL GROUPS around the city. And I fervently believe that someday, an army of full-time workers will come from this generation of students. If you are interested in joining our team and help us with our UMAK service, I invite you to come in our Leaders Rally this coming Saturday November 17, 7pm at the Every Nation Building or you can leave me a message if you have any questions. This Campus needs you. Lets "Honor God and Make Disciples".
11,000 Students. One University. One Lord. Come! Pray and believe with us as we reach the 11,000 students of this University for our Lord Jesus Christ.
It started with a free “Team Building Seminar 1D; for the professors of the College of Business and Administration of the University of Makati last June. As a result of the free seminar, the school offered another opportunity for us to serve them more and hit our main goal. They asked our ministry if we could take part in their “Personal Development and Public Relations” class. Because of that, we offered our L.I.F.E series seminar.
Our L.I.F.E. series, which stands for and talks about Leadership, Integrity, Faith, and Excellence, is a 12-week teaching series. It was developed by Every Nation Campus Ministry which help students excel in academics, develop leadership skills, be a positive influence in their community, and encourages them to pursue a God-centered lifestyle by being involved in our Life Coaching group. ADJUNCT PROFESSOR Dennis Sy, Miko Tangco & myself together with our SWM students headed by our hero Keith Deloria of ENCM, administered the three-month long lectures. We were able to infiltrate 8 classes with almost 50 students each class. As a favorable outcome, the students are now experiencing high hopes in becoming a leader. One student from my class said, "Sir, I hope this will not stop. This is helping us a lot. It's really building our confidence in God and in ourselves. It also helped us set a Godly-vision for our future." There was an incident in my class when I asked the students to freely talk about their experiences in their lives and the advice they can give to their classmates so that they can overcome or avoid bad circumstances. There was silence... Then momentarily, one by one the students started sharing and began verbalizing their encouragement to one another. Half of the students began crying because almost all of them are facing trials of many kinds. After that session, they were giving HIGH FIVES because they were strengthened by each others faith and love. It was AMAZING! pwede nga isapelikula yung nangyari. Even got me teary eyed!
And so, this is the VISION we have for these young people in this campus. That God will use us to bring His message to them by starting a University church or a youth service the moment we have enough small group leaders to bring in the harvest.
Please don't think this won't happen. When God gives a vision, He will fulfill it. Whether with us or with someone else. But my prayer is that, "let it be with us". We pray that God touches your heart that may you capture a vision from God for this campus also.
Genesis 15:5 He took him outside and said, “Look up at the heavens and count the stars — if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”
Check out this blog by Pastor Steve and also the linked video in it. One of the best video ever put up by some of our Victory pastors and worship leaders on how to have a successful 121 discipleship ...the Michael Jackson's "Billy Jean" way! Enjoy!
Pastor Jay Duque recently visited Life Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He did Victory Weekend there among the men and did a seminar about "blogging". Pastor Jay was really a blessing to them according to those people there. Thanks Pastor Jay for being an example to us. But something happened recently a few days after the blog seminar... check out this link and leave a comment too. Thanks!; Pastor Jay?!?...what have you done?!?.....Hahaha!
I Have A Weakness! And Its My Left Hand! That is why my opponent always forces me to drive LEFT! And not only that, i have a weak right leg, weak left peripheral vision and many more. I am boasting of my weaknesses (about my basketball skills). I thank God for my weaknesses because it draws me to trust God in my past career. And it was by God's grace that I was able to overcome it. And not only with my 10 year basketball career but also in every area of my life.
That is why our Grace Series is really a blast! It reminded me that all the great things that are happening in our lives, family, ministry and career are all because of God’s Grace. We can’t really rely on our own strength even for just one second. Human strength is actually a strong hindrance in trusting Christ. That means even in small problems, we need God’s Grace.
Ika nga ni Pastor LA… “(read with KRIS AQUINO tone please)…GRACE OR NO GRACE!”
I can’t wait to hear the message tomorrow... the “Enabling Grace”(third part of the series). We will discover that God wants to exercise His power through our lives.
I can still remember the day I got saved, I told God that “Lord, if you are what you really said you are, will you change me? Because I cant do it by my own “slam dunking strength!”(forgive me with the slam dunking, it’s the only way I can describe my strength) :) And He Did! And even up to now God is still changing me. Because honestly, there are still times in my life that I think I can handle things on my own.
Lastly, do not despise your weakness, for it holds your hand and leads you to trust God’s strength.
“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

Syaks!!! tagal ko na palang hindi nag blog?! Hirap eh. This one too is all by God's grace. hehe

Hello everybody! Will you share your dream marriage proposal? A balcony overlooking Taal Lake in Tagaytay. At dusk on the beach. In a basketball game. The first place you laid eyes on each other. Wherever the place, whatever the phrasing, or how simple it is, ... describe your perfect proposal. Thanks!
